Does my subscription pay for my date?
Yes, your subscription pays for the main portion of your date, or what we call The Main Event. This is the activity that you get to choose from our dates section every month. When you arrive at The Main Event, don’t even think about reaching for your wallet, unless it’s to tip the cute waiter. What you do before or after The Main Event is completely up to you, but we give you some awesome suggestions because we know how hard planning can be.
What's a Main Event?
The Main Event is the main portion of your date. It’s all booked and paid for under your subscription. We have some awesome Main Events for you to pick from, and we’re adding new ones all the time. Think a couples scavenger hunt, a virtual reality escape room, a biking adventure, lots of amazing set menus, comedy nights, and an outdoor cinema bed movie night. There’s a lot more to come, and there’s definitely a little something for everyone.
What's an Opening Act and Encore?
The Opening Act is a suggestion of a place to go before your Main Event, usually within a 10 minute walk. It might be a fancy bar where you can share a couple of drinks, or a cute cafe where you can grab a bite to eat. The Encore is a suggestion of a nearby location to hang out after your Main Event. It might be a local gallery where you can #getcultured, a romantic walk, or a divine dessert joint where you can satisfy that sweet tooth of yours. We’ve done all the research, so there’s nothing left for you to stress about. Go and have fun like the lovebirds you were always meant to be!
Do I need to subscribe to go on a date?
Yes, we are a monthly subscription service - this is what separates us from other services that are out there. We’re designed to bring regular date nights back into the lives of long-term couples and put a guaranteed date night in the calendar. However, if you’re looking to try us just once, we’ve made it possible for you to cancel your subscription anytime. No strings attached! Just don’t blame us if you end up staying on with us for longer than you anticipated - we’re kind of addictive like that.
Do I get to pick which date I go on?
Of course you can choose your own date! You and your partner know what each other like best. We’re always adding new dates to our selection - it’s like a delicious menu that keeps growing and changing every month.
How often do you add new dates to pick from?
We want to make sure you and your partner always have something new to try together for date night. That means every month you can rest assured knowing there will be new experiences added to our dates section for you to pick from.
How far in advance do I need to book my date?
Most of our dates can be booked 7 days a week with as little as 24 hours notice. Some dates, like a private tour, require more notice so we can organise staff.
Can I pause my subscription?
Definitely! Whether you’re going away on holiday or having the in-laws visit for what seems like forever, just give us a heads up. We’ll pause your subscription and turn it back on for you the next month.
Can I cancel my subscription if I change my mind?
Yes, absolutely! The subscription comes with no strings attached. While we’d be sorry to see you go, you have every right to leave us.
What if I don't have time to go on a date this month?
Then no date for you! Haha, just kidding. We understand how busy life can get, so we’re happy for you to carry over your date to the next month. This can only be done once, for a maximum of two dates in a month. You’re welcome!
Help! The babysitter no-showed and I need to cancel my date last minute!
We get it, life happens. Postponing your date is no problem and there’s never any additional service charge for rescheduling or rebooking. We’ll work with you to move your date to a more suitable time.
How do I get billed?
You’ll get billed for your first date when you checkout on our website for the first time. You’ll then have 30 days to choose your first Spark date. After you go on your first date, you’ll be billed on the 5th day of each month. We use Stripe to facilitate payments and receipts are automatically sent to your inbox each month.
What if I’m not happy with my date?
We understand there’s a certain expectation that comes with date night. It’s a time to relax, have fun and enjoy each other’s company while leaving the stresses of the world behind. We only work with venues who have a minimum 4 star rating, so we can ensure you’re getting fantastic service. That said, if you ever feel like date night could have been better, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll work to correct any situation.
Can I give someone a Spark date as a gift?
How generous of you! We like you already. Luckily, we have three gift options. You can purchase 1 month, 3 months, or 6 months worth of Spark dates. 3 months is our most popular package, but the best value option is 6 months, because your recipient will get one bonus date. It’s a perfect gift for a wedding, anniversary, or birthday - prepare yourself for hugs and kisses and plenty of gratitude.
I want to make my Spark date extra special. Can you help?
Yes, this is one of our favourite things! From surprising your partner with small gifts to organising proposals, we can work with you to make any date extra special.
Can you help me find someone to take on my Spark date?
Unfortunately, we are not a matchmaking service. We’ve designed our service for couples who are already in committed relationships, and are looking to reignite that spark that made them fall in love with each other. We recommend that you go out hunting for that perfect partner that makes you feel like the best version of yourself. Until you find them, we’ll be waiting patiently on the sidelines, cheering you on.
