Spring's just around the corner, which means we're feeling the itch to get a little more physically active and practice some additional self care in our lives. Focusing on a common goal together builds our connection through teamwork, and has the added bonus of exercise. We're put together a short list of outdoorsy and physically challenging dates to try together around Sydney. Enjoy!
Nothing beats reverting back to childhood with your partner! We love this huge warehouse of trampolines. In fact this was some of the most fun we’ve ever had exercising. We worked up a sweat and had such a blast jumping and climbing. It’s also awesome if you’re looking for double date ideas in Sydney!

You'll definitely give your quads a workout with this one, between running, squatting and crawling your way through the course. Lasertag is like a HIIT exercise disguised as a date, and we couldn’t wait to do round after round with this one! Again, this is perfect for double dates or group date ideas in Sydney, but you can also just join in on a couple games with strangers.
3. Horseback riding
You may not think that sitting on a horse is a very active date idea...but let us tell you, it will give your inner thighs a heck of a workout, especially when you're trotting! Plus it’s romantic and makes great photo ops with your honey. Being right in our backyard of Centennial Park, how cool is it to say you went horseback riding in Sydney?

Kayak rental companies are located all over Sydney Harbour, so pick one that is convenient for you! We're partial to the Manly Kayak Centre right next to Manly Wharf. It’s a short paddle around the corner to Collins Flats (little penguins) and the Quarantine Station where you can tie up and bring a picnic lunch. The team at Manly Kayak can also set you up with a picnic on delivery if you’re feeling a little extra romantic!

5. Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)
If you fancy a stand up paddle boarding workout, followed by a beautiful cocktail overlooking the water at iconic Watsons Bay Hotel or a classy dinner at famous Doyles on the beach, we recommend heading over to Watsons Bay. You’ll have a gorgeous view looking back at the city, and a short walk away is the stunning Gap Park. You might even bump into one of the many starlets who call Watsons Bay home!

When you think of Sydney, you often think of surfing on its iconic beaches. You and your partner can rent a board at any number of shops (we recommend Bondi or Manly if you’re in the City or Cronulla if you’re further south), and there are surf schools that are easy to locate right on the beach! There’s a reason surfers are amazingly fit!

Want something affordable that’s also accessible if you're on different fitness levels? Hiking is it, and you can choose from beautiful urban hikes in and around the city. You can take a nature walk along almost any part of Sydney’s incredible coastline as a fun active date. Or if nature is your jam, the Blue Mountains has all you need! The train from Sydney to the Blue Mountains is actually super simple and offers $2.50 round trip travel if you head out on a Sunday. Pack a few hiking snacks and you’re all set for an awesome active date!
